Emergency — smoke coming into the room, flames or roaring in the flue, or a carbon monoxide alarm: get everyone out and call the fire service first, then call us.
What to have ready when you call
None of this is required, but it makes the first two minutes more useful.
What you have noticed. Smoke in the room, a smell, a stain on a ceiling, a noise in the flue, or simply that nobody knows when it was last done.
How many fireplaces the house has, and whether the furnace vents into the chimney. If you do not know, say so — we will find out.
Roughly when it was last swept, if anyone knows. “No idea” is a common and perfectly useful answer.
Whether the house has changed hands recently, or the heating appliance has been replaced. Both change what we look at first.

Who answers the phone?
Rick, Jack or Andy. There is no dispatcher and no call centre.
Do you visit the Commons Dr address?
That is our base rather than a showroom. All the work happens at your house.
How quickly can you come out?
Often the same or next day, depending on the season. August through October is our busiest stretch, so book earlier if you can.
What if I call outside your hours?
Leave a message and we call back when we open at 7am. If it is an emergency, call the fire service first.
Can I reach you without phoning?
Use the callback form — it reaches us the same way and we ring you back the same day.
Do you cover my town?
Fifteen towns across Kane County and western DuPage. Check the service areas page, and if you are just outside, call and ask.
Will you give a price over the phone?
A starting price, yes — those are published on the pricing page. A firm number for repair work comes after we have looked.
