Every job starts with a camera inspection so you see the problem before you are quoted for it, and starting prices for all eight are published rather than quoted over the phone.

The eight services
Every one of these is work we do ourselves, in the fifteen towns around Geneva.
Which one do you need?
You have not had it looked at in years, or ever. Start with a Level 1 inspection. It tells you the condition, and if the flue is clean we will say so rather than sweep it anyway.
You burn wood regularly. Sweeping, once buildup reaches about an eighth of an inch. For most households burning several evenings a week that is annual.
There is a stain on a ceiling or damp brick. That is water, and it is repair territory — crown, flashing or a missing cap. The fix depends on where it is getting in.
You are buying or selling a house. A Level 2 inspection with a full camera scan, before closing.
The furnace was replaced and nobody mentioned the chimney. Very common, and it usually means the flue is now oversized. See relining.
Gas fireplace, never serviced. No creosote, but the burner, pilot, gasket and venting all need annual attention — see gas fireplace service.
Clothes need two cycles. Dryer vent, and it is a fire risk rather than an annoyance.
You have just had building work done. That is the clearest genuine case for air duct cleaning.

Questions about our services
Do you do all of this yourselves?
Yes. Rick, Jack and Andy do the sweeping, the masonry and the roof work. Nothing is subcontracted.
Can you do more than one service in a visit?
Yes, and it is the sensible way to do it. Sweeping plus a dryer vent, or two flues in one stack, saves a second trip and we price it accordingly.
Which towns can you actually get to?

Do you charge a call-out fee?
No. What you see on the pricing page is the starting price for the work itself.
Which service should I book if I do not know what is wrong?
An inspection. It is the only honest answer — it tells you the condition and what, if anything, needs doing.
Do you work on prefabricated fireplaces as well as masonry?
Both. They fail differently — prefabs from rusted chase covers and cracked refractory panels rather than creosote — and they need manufacturer-specified parts.
Can you service a chimney that has never been used?
Yes, and it is worth doing once. An unused flue still takes rain and still houses animals.
Do you offer emergency visits?
Chimney fires and carbon monoxide go to the front of the queue. Get everyone out and call the fire service first, then call us.
